Last FNSI for 2014

Once again stitched along with Wendy and the girls for our last get together for the year
Sometimes the best laid plans go astray and like Wendy I got called out for a while, so did not get as much done as I hoped
Hope all is good Wendy
Our local Publican rang to say no one had turned up to do the Pub Friday night raffle so I went and sold tickets in aid of the local Hospital
Came home and did some quilting on my nearly finished UFO quilt
Love this quilt so do not know why I have taken so many years to get to it
I usually do not have UFOS
Thanks Wendy for a lovely year of get togethers

FNWF

I was away with my sister  Friday night
We had a funeral for a very dear friend, so we stayed overnight in a motel
It was a very stormy weekend in Mansfield. Got wet going into the church, than again at the cemetery,
Max was one of the horsemen in the Man From Snowy River movies. His funeral procession was led by four  men on horse back A very fitting tribute.
I finished the stitching on this hanger in our motel room and sewed it last night at home
Off to see what everyone else got up to now

Another FNSI has come and gone

Last night I again joined Wendy and the girls for a productive night of stitching
So nice to have the company
I have been stitching these little blocks this past week and last night completed the last one and put them together
I think this will be my Kris Kringle gift for my patchwork group
I sent off my Santa Sack gifts this week
I hope Kerrie likes what I have sent

Iam still here

It has been a while since I have posted, I have been reading Blogs but not commenting, so rest assured Iam keeping up with your happenings
Made an Advent calendar for a friends little girls
Handed it over today in case I do not see them before Dec 1, which is coming around very quickly
Trying to get some work done in the garden Our weather has been very changeable, so grabbing the chance when it is good. So windy. My roses have been lovely but the wind is playing havoc
Hubbys brother passed away yesterday Funeral is on Friday which is also my darling daughters birthday, so it will be a hard day for me.
Feeling quite emotional as this day approaches

FNSI and help me Please

Once again, last night I enjoyed, well maybe not enjoyed,  got frustrated is probably more apt, when I joined Wendy and friends for another Friday night get together
I prepared this block for applique and once again my applifex would not stick, hence the pins
So annoying
Please How do you store your fusible web and for how long?
I must be doing something wrong
This particular brand came with the assurance it would not separate
Well guess what? It did
Any advice would be appreciated
Will probably not get back to see what the rest of you got up to until tomorrow
Going partying tonight

I' ve got the blues FNwf

I started yesterday off with the blues
For reasons I won't go into Iam feeling very used at the moment
I told Hubby to keep away and I was having a sewing day(he is not the one giving me the blues)
I did some chain piecing on an I spy quilt

Then I used more of my stitcheries and made another table runner for a gift for a friends birthday
I was a little cheered sewing along with Cheryll and the girls for our monthly sew in
My friend has just left She bought around some happy food
Wine Chips and chocolate
If that doesn't brighten me up I don't know what will
Thanks Cheryll for another lovely evening

Summer Mini for Maria

My summer mini has arrived at Maria of the The Next Stage Blog
Thankfully she is happy with it
I was discussing the mini with my sister and she suggested I make a bikini
That night the old song Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka dot bikini popped into my head and wouldn't go away
The next morning I heard that song on the radio I had not heard it for years
So that was it I set to work and made a bikini mini

A little while later Travelling Treasures arrived at my house and in it was the perfect bikini fabric
Some reverse sewing took place and this is the mini I sent to Maria
You can view the song here
So pleased Maria liked it
It has been described as Whimsical

Nurses bags for FNSI

Patchwork and Stitching magazine are holding a charity drive and are asking readers to make little nurses bags for nurses in third world countries
.
So last night along with the lovely Wendy and friends I whipped up a few
I would make some more but am having trouble sourcing what the magazine calls twill tape and the lady at my local shop calls herringbone tape
I tried the internet with little success and it is really quite expensive at my shop
Probably not looking in the right place on the internet
Not real cluey at Internet shopping
Must be my lucky week because Iam to be the lucky recipient of one of the lovely random acts of kindness gifts from the lovely Shez and just heard from Lisa that Travelling treasures will be coming my way
Show you when they get here

Boy Oh Boy It's Cold

Cold enough to snow and been blowing a gale
Had planned to sew all day yesterday... an early start for my Friday night with friends hosted by the lovely Cheryll but the best laid plans and all that
We had trees over fences so had to do a bit of helping outside before I got to start
I managed to finish this coat hanger, at least I did something
My first grandson turned 21 on Wednesday
Cannot believe I have a grandson that old
Iam too young
The little boy belongs to a friend of my daughter
