A little win and post op news

I was the lucky October winner of Cheryll's FNWF
Look at this lovely parcel of goodies
that was waiting for me when I came home from hospital
The best medicine that made me smile
thank you so much Cheryll
I have very little black in my stash so this is perfect
My Op last Monday went very well
I was up walking with a frame hours after surgery and walking with crutches the very next day
The pain I had before surgery seems to be gone Now it is mainly stiffness around the knee which is very swollen
I had three nights in hospital and home on the fourth day
Taking it easy Little walks, some exercises then iceing the knee afterwards
The days are long, but Iam getting better each day Have to go for physio tomorrow
Hubby is looking after me well

FNWF

Friday nights sewing with virtual friends is always something to look forward to
Last
night I again joined Cheryll and friends for some stitching enjoyment
The weekend is fun too because I get to visit the other friends who joined in and see what lovelies they have created
Firstly I finished the stitching on this block which is for the Lasting Legacy block of the month quilt
I think there are two more blocks to go then the instructions will be given for putting it together
I like this block a lot

I then traced and stitched the shoe for another of Michelle's shoe bags
I have now made   and given away eight of these bags
Off now to visit some of you
They have been very well received

Sewing with Wendy and Friends

Some months ago the girls in my quilting group all made a couple of blocks for a charity quilt The only stipulation was it had to be 12 inches square
No one put their hand up to quilt it so Maureen and I travelled to the next town where they have a long arm quilt machine at the Community House
We had a great time playing around with it and were pretty happy with the finished result
I will probably end up doing the binding
At a cost of $16 I think I will be using this machine again sometime

And last nights effort
Looks a bit wonky in the photo It isn't really
Another block in my Lasting Legacy block of the month quilt featured in Patchwork and Stitching magazine
Thanks again Wendy for hosting

Playin

Just been playing around and Yippee I managed to get my little owl to stand the right way

I have recently finished this runner
A Michelle Ridgeway design
Very pleased with it, though I just noticed I put  one heart in side ways
Did you  know that the Amish  make a mistake in a quilt on purpose because only God is perfect
Believe me I do not have to do it on purpose

Busy Busy

I have been very slack on the Blogging front Life seems to be so busy
Have been running grandkids about,  Seeing my Mum, who had a skin cancer removed from her leg and even managed a little holiday
My quilting friend Maureen and I went on a coach tour to a Country Music Stampede at Barham
We had the loveliest time

Our friend Anne was supposed to come with us but got a virus and was to sick so we tried to include her

Was taking a photo of the entertainers and this woman held up her Knitting just as I clicked
There were about half a dozen women knitting while enjoying the show Maureen thought everyone would think we went to a craft weekend

I managed this little bit of stitching when in our room at night
I have not showed what I sent to Kaye in the Christmas in July swap

Some quilting done on scrappy quilt for FNWF

Last night when I joined with Cheryll and friends I got some quilting done on this scrappy quilt
This year is my year to use nothing but fabric from my stash
Have pretty much succeeded ( well apart from a little purchase early in the year of some REALLY cheap fabric at the Op shop. So that doesn't count Right? )
I seem to have a collection of farming related fabric so into this quilt they went along with some orphan blocks and a couple of recently completed tractor stitcheries
Very happy with the result
Just home from footy
It was FEEZING
I wore tights under my jeans , but only one pair of socks Little toesys are freezing
Footy isn't so bad because you can sit in the car and watch, but netball is another story
Best go heat my toes by the fire
